Meet Little Robert. His journey began in tragedy, shaped by the loss of his father, a hardworking Teamster Union truck driver, who was killed during Memorial Day celebrations in 1970 when his truck was hijacked near Livermore, California. The shock of losing his father at a young age etched Robert’s soul, forging the values and convictions he carries today — values rooted in the strength, resilience, and pride of the working-class world. His tastes in food, music, clothing, and lifestyle are a heritage his father had instilled in him as a small boy and, lastly, a tribute to the spirit of everyday working-class American people whom, without, the world would soon stop turning!
Getting to know Little Robert
Fueled by the fierce determination and strength of a much older boy by the tender age of 8, he had had his first “real” fight with an older boy, got arrested, ran away from home, and hustled an old man out of $50 while hitchhiking in his teens. The idle harshly romantic idea of some road-rough, street hustler kid who grew up and was able to make it might be the perfect premise for some uplifting modern-day after-school special, the truth is, only by pure necessity alone was Little Robert able to accomplish so much in his younger years, and that includes the good and the bad! In his own right, he had led a somewhat cool teenage life; By the age of 15, Little Robert had already hitchhiked and worked his way across the U.S., from the sun-soaked highways of Southern California to the bustling streets of Washington, D.C., soaking in the freedom of the open road. He had taken private music lessons from 50’s & 60’s Jazz musicians Ken Smith, Fred McDonald, Gunnar Eisel, and Louie Bellson. While in his teens he was gifted a 10-minute guitar lesson from Joe Pass at G.I.T. in Hollywood, California. With these musical events and other artistic opportunities, Little Robert had discovered a true love for music, literature, photography, and an overt love for open highways!
From his early twenties and well on into his 30s, Little Robert continued to explore, refine, and expand upon his artistic skills & need for more meaningful connections. In his quest, he used his gregarious charm while he mingled and played in the entertainment world in general, finding easy access to the well-guarded chambers of local artists, musicians, filmmakers, and other highly regarded entertainment professionals, he was able to secure multiple meaningful opportunities, meeting new people, having fun while enjoying plenty of rewarding gigs along the way.
At 61, Little Robert has worn many hats. He’s been a mechanic, worked in the music industry, sales, and computers, and even served as a government contractor specializing in technical and digital services. His BA in Management Information Systems (MIS) with a minor in Communication and certifications from tech giants like Microsoft, Apple, HP, Dell, and Compaq only tell part of his story. Robert’s skills span the artistic, digital, and technical worlds while he beats to the rhythm of an old-school road warrior in his heart.
Little Robert’s worldly artistic adventures aren’t just another segment of his life, it’s far more; it’s woven into the very fabric of who he is. Loving, living life, and seeing the world from his teenage perspective to living on the road in his trusted Ford van; Little Robert has embraced life’s simple pleasures, discovering extraordinary moments in the ordinary, and sharing those passions with everyone he meets.
Above all, Little Robert’s greatest love is the written word. Whether it’s pen to paper, writing words to a melody, tapping away at a vintage typewriter, or putting modern technology to work in his favor, he’s spent his life crafting words and sharing them. His work has appeared on hundreds of websites and blogs and in plenty of words & music and many indie-based artistic situations. He loves helping others discover the beauty of simplicity. He’s a digital hustler, always looking for the best deals, free goodies, tools, services, and resources that can make life easier — and he’s passionate about sharing these finds with others.
For Little Robert, living a rich life doesn’t require a fortune. It’s about recognizing and celebrating the value in everyday things, finding joy in the small victories, and helping others along the way. He’s here to share his journey, insights, and the treasures he uncovers, always marching to the beat of his own drum.
